Carol Harris of Woodard & Curran has been elected Vice President of the Board of Directors of the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA). Harris has more than 25 years of experience in water supply and water infrastructure development, operations, and planning. She works with cities and towns in New England to deliver high-quality drinking water to their residents at reasonable rates.

As Vice President of NEWWA, Harris will work with the Board to foucs on the Association‘s vision of inspiring excellence in the drinking water, public confidence in tap water, and water resource stewardship. The Board oversees the work of the Association’s more than 90 committees to ensure alignment, and works closely with the Executive Director to implement a strategic plan.

“My goal,” said Harris, “is to continue to enhance services and build strong partnerships throughout the region in pursuit of the Association’s mission to promote public health, safety, quality of life, and environmental stewardship. I am excited to take on the challenge of helping all our members provide a safe and sufficient supply of drinking water in a rapidly changing profession and an equally rapidly changing water resources landscape.”

Established in 1882, NEWWA is a 3,000 member not-for-profit organization. The association is New England’s leading authority on education, training opportunities, and public outreach to protect and improve drinking water and water utility operations.
