Hurricane Awareness

Hurricane Awareness

June 1 is the official start of hurricane season, and The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is promoting National Hurricane Preparedness Week as part of ongoing effort to reduce the impact of severe weather. Much like National Severe Weather Week, FEMA’s goal is to foster increased awareness of the risks of hurricanes, encourage people to take action to reduce those risks, and ask them to be examples for their friends and family.

FEMA has much more information and an array of resources on how to prepare for and respond to hurricanes. Check out the ready.gov page for hurricanes, read up, and pledge to prepare!
