Woodard & Curran named an Envision Qualified Company

As a company, some of the values we prioritize from the foundation of our mission statement to the reality of the projects we work on across the country are protecting the environment, achieving excellence in all our operations, and providing services that strengthen resiliency. The Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), the hub of a community of organizations and individuals involved in creating and maintaining sustainable infrastructure, stands for these same values as they work to help professionals plan and develop more sustainable infrastructure projects. Envision is a resource the ISI has created to further their mission, which professionals in the industry can be expertly trained in to leverage its full potential in executing infrastructure work.

Due to our shared goals—and our offering of strategic asset management services that drive operational efficiency, improve financial and infrastructure reliability, and help gain public support—becoming a sustaining member of ISI seemed like a great way to partner with this organization. And because we have Envision Sustainability Professionals on staff, we’re now listed as an Envision Qualified Company by the ISI along with a number of others in our field committed to sustainability in infrastructure development.

Founded by the American Public Works Association (APWA), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) the ISI operates under their oversight—many of the nation’s top engineering minds are involved with the institute, ensuring its standards and guidance are always the very best they can be. The Envision rating system for infrastructure, which is similar to USGBC’s LEED rating system, was developed by ISI in collaboration with the Harvard University Graduate School of Design’s Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure. It can be used as a planning and design tool as well as a way to evaluate completed infrastructure projects at no costs to users, and can be used by anyone associated with infrastructure delivery, including designers, environmental organizations, regulators, and project owners, among others.

We’re excited to be included on ISI’s list of Envision Qualified Companies and to use this valuable resource as part of the strategic asset management services we offer our current and future infrastructure clients. Many of our clients have already begun using Envision in their work, and we look forward to familiarizing more clients with the best practices the tool outlines. We’re confident that working with ISI and Envision will help us to continue delivering successful projects while staying committed to the environment, excellence, and resiliency.
