Woodard & Curran was founded in 1979 as a company that put people first, cared deeply about the environment, and helped clients find creative solutions to their pressing water and environmental challenges. That legacy continues today and is embodied by our people who are experts in their fields, passionate about their work, and engaged in their communities.
This company is special. For over forty years, we have been guided by the mission established by our founders. They wanted to create a different kind of consulting firm, where people were treated well, where creativity and technical excellence were rewarded, and where principles were more important than the bottom line.
Woodard & Curran was founded as an employee-owned firm, and our employees are still our shareholders. This allows us to put people and principles before profit. Our values define who we are as a firm, and private ownership enables us to live our values. We set our own long-term priorities and shape our collective future together.
Every Woodard & Curran employee has the opportunity to become an owner. You can buy your first shares after a year with the firm, with opportunities to expand your investment over time.
Woodard & Curran stock has been an excellent investment for the entire history of the firm, with an average increase in value of 15% per year for the last 10 years, outperforming market averages and comparable companies.

Committed people dedicated to making an impact and serving our clients by addressing their environmental challenges. This is how we make a difference to our clients and communities.
Our vision is simple: clean water, safe environment, healthy communities, happy people. At Woodard & Curran, we strive to protect and improve the quality of life of our people, our clients, and our communities through the projects and programs we deliver.
Our mission guides us. Frank Woodard and Al Curran founded Woodard & Curran in 1979 to create a different kind of firm. They developed our mission statement, understanding the firm’s success was inextricably tied to the strength and talent of its people.
“To develop and perpetuate a safe, enjoyable, gratifying, and fulfilling place to work with the important objectives of growth, freedom, challenge, recognition, and reward.
To deliver to our clients and the community a continually expanding range of high-quality consulting engineering, science, and operations services, and…
In all endeavors of the company to act in a character of good faith and fairness, and at all times, hold protection of the environment in a regard superior to that of all other interests.”
These values serve as the standard of how we treat each other and how we hold each other accountable:
