Operation of Chemical and Biological Phosphorus Removal with considerations for Combined Nitrogen and Phosphorus Removal Systems

Operation of Chemical and Biological Phosphorus Removal with considerations for Combined Nitrogen and Phosphorus Removal Systems

Paul Dombrowski presents as part of a series on operations fundamentals using process simulators.

This webinar will define the biological treatment concepts associated with enhanced biological phosphorus removal systems including carbon and SRT requirements and approaches to limiting the impact of DO and nitrate from adjacent process systems. The webinar will also present the fundamentals of chemical phosphorus removal and how a combined chemical and EBPR system can work together. Examples of plant layouts and case study simulations will be provided.

This series of webinars and workshops is targeted for water resource recovery facilities (WRRF) staff and will cover the fundamental concepts of operating biological and chemical water resource recovery systems to achieve various treatment objectives. Two primary focus areas for the training are nutrient removal and sludge digestion processes.
