Carol Harris and Benjamin Patten Honored at Massachusetts Water Works Anniversary Banquet

Woodard & Curran’s Carol Harris and Benjamin Patten received awards at the Massachusetts Water Works Association (MWWA) 75th anniversary celebration. Harris was given the Honorary Member Award, and Patten received the Executive Director Award.

The Honorary Member Award is MWWA’s highest honor and is reserved for individuals of eminence in water works practice or those who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing the welfare of the Association and the water supply profession. Harris was the association’s first female president, and in a remarkable coincidence, her election to that position was 30 years to the day before the anniversary banquet.

Patten’s Executive Director Award was granted for his exceptional committee leadership, including his pivotal role in producing a compelling video showcasing career opportunities in water operations. “MWWA is a powerful and respected voice for the water industry,” said Patten. “Leading the Operator Committee has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside talented, passionate individuals who care deeply about our profession and the communities we serve.”

The evening underscored MWWA’s enduring influence in shaping Massachusetts’ drinking water laws, regulations, and policies. For 75 years, the Association has remained a strong advocate for safe, reliable water systems and the professionals who make them possible.
