Board of Directors

Woodard & Curran’s Board of Directors guides the firm in three primary areas: financial management, strategic planning, and ownership transfer. It oversees four committees: Finance, Compensation & HR, Governance & Nomination, and Strategic Priorities.

Membership is comprised of the Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, five additional Internal Directors, and three External Directors whose credentials further strengthen the Board’s knowledge and expertise.

Douglas McKeown

Doug has over 25 years of experience in management, sales, and marketing in environmental consulting and contract operations. Prior to serving as Woodard & Curran's CEO from 2007-2020, he was Senior Vice President and Manager for the Operations and Management Business Center, overseeing a business group of 200 employees operating over 45 plants throughout the United States. In addition to his role as Chairman of the Board, Doug is a strategic advisor to the CEO.

ALYSON WATSON, PE

Alyson is the firm's Chief Executive Officer, having previously served as President and CEO of RMC Water and Environment. She has more than 20 years of experience as an executive leader, environmental consultant, and project manager focused on water resources planning and water quality analysis. She was elected to the firm’s Board of Directors in 2018 and is currently serving as the Chair of the Governance & Nomination Committee.  

Joseph barbagallo, PE, BCEE

Joe is the President of Consulting, responsible for the implementation of efficient business systems and oversight of first-class client service and technical quality. He engages directly with clients, works with internal teams, and sets strategy to enhance Woodard & Curran’s national presence. Throughout his 30-year career, he has worked with clients to build civil infrastructure that preserves the environment and builds strong communities.

DUFF COLLINS, PG, LSP

Duff has more than 30 years of consulting experience solving complex environmental problems for industry and the public sector. His work includes a wide array of site remediation and environmental compliance projects under state and federal programs.

Thomas hazlett, pe

Tom is Director of Woodard & Curran's Municipal Water Infrastructure Practices, serving as a connector to all different parts of the organization from sales to delivery, from engineering to operations, and from junior to senior staff. Under his leadership, the practice has significantly grown year after year. His experience on large-scale municipal wastewater infrastructure projects includes planning, permitting, public outreach and education, municipal funding, detailed design, bidding, construction administration, startup, and operations.

Dave MacDonald, PG

Dave is Woodard & Curran’s Environment & Remediation Business Development Leader. Throughout his career, he has applied his significant environmental consulting and strategic risk management experience at industrial and commercial use facilities as well as at projects involving land purchase and redevelopment, environmental restoration, water supply, and water treatment.

Rebekah is a trusted utility industry professional based in Los Angeles with a 20-year track record of strong solution leadership. She mobilizes IBM global and partner ecosystem capabilities to create business value leveraging experiences managing complex initiative design while operating in intense, results-focused environments. Rebekah is known for creating sustainable go-to-market and portfolio leadership for solutions that leverage data and analytics, improve operational efficiencies, and deliver customer satisfaction, ultimately enabling high-performance teams.

Steve Guttenplan, Retired Executive Vice President, AECOM Water

Steve is a former President of Metcalf & Eddy/AECOM and served as Global Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President for AECOM Water. He retired from that role in 2011. He held numerous positions in a 25-year career at CH2MHill, including serving on their Board from 2001-2004.

Bruce Wagner, Former CEO, finance authority of maine

Bruce is the former CEO of the Finance Authority of Maine. He has a strong background in business management, development, and renewal, having also previously served as a Division President at W.R. Grace, CEO of Barber Foods, and CFO at Martin's Point Health Care. He has also served on the Boards of Directors at Mercy Hospital, the Portland Community Health Center, and the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.
