Entry-level Health & Safety Coordinator

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an Entry-level Health & Safety coordinator or professional to assist in the development and implementation of safety and health in region in accordance with the Health & Safety plan and policies.

What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Monitor and observe employee and contractor HSE performance

Know and enforce the Regional Health & Safety Plan (HASP), multiple Site-Specific Health & Safety Plans (SSHASP’s), and other related policies

Lead/facilitate Task Risk Assessments (TRA’s)

Be able to identify potential hazards and propose corrective measures accordingly

Present/Lead specific safety meeting topics

Know and be able to complete work permits, upon request

Provide new employee, contractor, and visitor trainings

Ensure employees are adequately equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to perform their tasks safely

Ensure accurate and timely incident notification are entered into corporate and client incident databases and prepare lessons learned.

Manage Health & Safety Programs

Perform/assist in field inspections and audits as necessary

Provide Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) communication through the entire Rocky Mountain Region, and others upon request

Assist, develop, and deliver HSE training programs (8-hr HAZWOPER, Control of Work, First Aid/CPR/AED, etc)

Maintain Site-Specific Health & Safety Plans (SSHASP’s), including the Emergency Response Plans

Assuring that monthly inspections of fire extinguishers are completed throughout each office, as well as coordinating annual maintenance/inspections

Evaluate hazard mitigation methods and insure the implementation of these methods

Provide Federal, State, and local regulatory compliances when needed

Provide Incident Management Support

Be a resource for safety reporting requirements, accident, and near-miss investigations

Assist and facilitate in incident investigations

OTHER DUTIES (Field Team Support):

Be familiar with Task Risk Assessments specific to tasks

Be familiar with scope of work that will be being performed

Frequently sit; stand; walk; talk; hear; use hands/fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; kneel; crouch; or crawl

Frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Have specific vision requirements for specific task (close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Qualifications

0-3 years of experience within the Health & Safety field required

Degree in safety or science

Aware of federal, state and local safety laws to ensure the Region complies with all current safety regulations

Effective verbal and written communication

Ability to travel up to 60%
