Celebrating Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate contributions women have made throughout history and recognize their achievements in a variety of fields. Though the fields of engineering and science have historically been male dominated, more and more women are entering the field. Renee Lanza, Drinking Water Project Manager, and Stephanie Hubli, Water Resources Engineer, are two women here at Woodard & Curran making headway in their careers and promoting the industry through their work.

To celebrate, we sat down with Renee and Stephanie, who in 2021 were honored with the Young Member of the Year Award by their respective regional American Water Works Association (AWWA) chapters for their active participation in the regional and national Young Professionals Committee. Stephanie also serves as a leader for Woodard & Curran’s Ascending Professionals Employee Resource Group.

In conversation with them, Renee and Stephanie talk about their individual roles, interesting projects, why they champion the field, and what it’s like to be women working in the water industry.
