Dr. Saquib Najmus has 30 years of experience in integrated water management, integrated groundwater and surface water modeling, water budget development, water supply alternatives analysis, data management, and integration of multidisciplinary issues in water resources projects. He focuses on project and program management for water resources planning and management projects for federal, state, and local government agencies. He has led groundbreaking work in integration of model, data, and analysis. He has been working with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) as a key consultant for the Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) and Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) programs since their inception. 

Saquib is a recognized expert in integrated hydrologic modeling and authored the hydrologic modeling chapter and groundwater section of the Water Resources Planning Manual published by the American Water Works Association. He is the co-author of the Integrated Groundwater and Surface Water Model, a hydrologic model that has been widely used in California and formed the basis of DWR’s official model, integrated water flow model.
