Our teams provide strategic guidance and evaluations, deliver designs, and construct solutions that directly and positively impact communities and the environment. In 2020 we began a process to collect data to represent the outcomes from our work for industrial clients, from water recycling to remediation. We continued that effort into 2022 and reflected on a broader spectrum of services. - Our Sustainability & ESG Practice was formalized in late 2021 to complement existing climate change, business continuity, environmental compliance and EHS practices. The team provides business and sustainability strategy support to our clients; conducts materiality, human rights, and environmental justice assessments, and develops implementation plans across environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance.
- Our Industrial Water teams conducted water recycling evaluations, designs and system installations –multiple projects resulted in over 200 million gallons of total water savings annually. In addition to several contaminant removal evaluations, these teams designed and built multiple systems resulting in approximately nine million pounds of contaminants – including BOD, nitrogen and phosphorus – removed in 2022.
- Our Air Services teams helped clients account and manage renewable energy that flows through the power grid via Renewable Energy Credits, quantifying and verifying an equivalent of 784,644 megawatt hours of energy and managing an equivalent of 108,760 megawatt hours of energy.
- Our Ecological Services teams assessed and characterized habitats to be placed under conservation easements. At the same time, we helped create or restore multiple wetlands, streams and acres of habitat.
- Our Industrial Plant Engineering teams engineered and constructed projects to help process more than 60 million pounds per year of baled postconsumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is converted to 35 million pounds of usable food and drink packaging annually.
- Our Environmental Remediation teams successfully treated 371 million gallons of groundwater from multiple projects across seven states, removing over 8,500 pounds of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds.
