Woodard & Curran Welcomes New Senior Technical Manager Rich Sturn, PG, CHG

Woodard & Curran recently welcomed Rich Sturn, PG, CHG, as a Senior Technical Manager with expertise in groundwater resources development, sustainability, and remediation, serving clients in both our Municipal and Environment and Remediation business units.

Rich has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Geological Science and brings more than 25 years of professional consulting experience, with a focus on groundwater projects in Southern California. His academic background is in low-temperature geochemistry, which he has applied to support site characterization efforts for mining-related sites.

He has been a technical resource, project manager and program manager on many small to large-scale remediation projects for clients in aerospace, rail, chemical and retail petroleum industries. Rich has conducted site characterizations, groundwater modeling, feasibility studies, and the design/optimization of groundwater extraction, soil vapor extraction, and LNAPL recovery systems.  He has successfully developed technical and regulatory compliance strategies to help his clients achieve their goals and objectives.  

Rich has served municipal clients in Southern California on  groundwater well design and contract documents for groundwater supply and artificial recharge projects, and services during construction. His work has included developing groundwater sustainability plans, recharge studies, and modeling.
